Illustrations that tell a story...

...and demonstrate a real game mechanic are my favorites. Jeff Dee wasn't always my favorite D&D artist, but I really like this one, and also some he did in the A "slaver" series. And of course his paladin in the Rogue's Gallery was epic.


  1. I've always liked that pic, too.

  2. I like the fact that a number of his illustrations seems to be the same characters, in different environments/situations/adventures: his illustrations have a sense of continuity that many others lack.


  3. agreed. seeing the same characters added something. David Sutherland III illustrations along the bottom of the random dungeon generator rules in the original DMG were epic.
